The Triple Eight-built one of a kind V8 supercar, will be used as part of charity all of this September. The charity " Blue September " is aiming to raise $400,000 for the Australian Prostate Cancer Research and the Australian Cancer Research Foundation which will be used to buy early diagnosis equipments.
The link between the Sandman and Blue September comes through automotive retailer Autobarn, which is both a partner of the charity and a Triple Eight sponsor.
The Sandman, first rolled out by Triple Eight and Holden last October, is pure V8 Supercar under its station wagon body. The car started life as a race-winning Red Bull Racing Australia chassis, which was raced by Jamie Whincup in the first half of the 2013 season. It was re-purposed into the Sandman as a ride car and promotional tool last year.
