Lee Holdsworth's Supercar Gets A New Look

LEE Holdsworth’s V8 Supercar will get a fresh new look for next weekend’s Wilson Security Sandown 500, with Preston Hire set to back the car for the opening Pirtek Enduro Cup race.

It marks an extension of the Sydney-based company’s primary sponsorship deal.

After after spending most of the season as a secondary sponsor, the flanks of the No. 18 Holden carried the Preston Hire logos at the Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint last month, where Holdsworth equalled his best result of the season with a seventh place in the second Saturday race.

“I’ve built a good relationship with Markus (Preston) and his team at Preston Hire,” Holdsworth said.

“They’re mad about motorsport so it’s fantastic to have them on board as title sponsor and carrying their colours at Sandown.

“I’m always excited heading into the endurance season but even more so after finding a significant gain in speed at Sydney Motorsport Park; and I feel confident we can carry that through the Enduros.”

The new-look car will get its track debut at Winton on Thursday when Walkinshaw Racing conducts its sole remaining test day for the 2015 season.

It will also be the first chance for Holdsworth’s Enduro Cup co-driver, IndyCar star Sebastien Bourdais, to log laps behind a New Generation V8 Supercar.

“The main aim for the test day is to give Sebastien as many laps as possible so he is comfortable before Sandown,” Holdsworth said.

“The other goal is to confirm we’ve gained speed since we were last at Winton.”
