Ladies and Gentlemen, You've heard it right. Lexus has overtaken the BMW and Mercedes in the sales of luxury cars in the US for the last month.
The two german companies remain in shock as this Toyota owned company sold 33,487 units of cars last August and now we're dealing with a situation that some people already anticipated. Mercedes came second in the race by selling 28,373 units of cars and BMW got the third place with 27,775 units of sales.
Talking about the percentages, Lexus raised up by 2,1% as compared to the same month last year while Mercedes gained 4.8 % hike in their sales and BMW gained a flat 2 %.
The best sellers for the month were NX SUV which is giving the company a lot of profits as 4,448 units are already sold in just 4 weeks. BMW's 3 series has recorded a hike of 23 % last month as compared to the face-lift model.
So far as the Year-to-date sales are concerned, BMW is on the top position selling 223,348 cars in these 8 months with a rise of 5.9% as compared to 2014 sales. Lexus has snatched the second spot by selling 222,151 units in the course of 8 months with a rise of 12 % so far. Mercedes is now in the third position with 220,870 sales and an increase of 7.3 percent.

The Audi isn't so close to these competitors with a sale of 18,794 units last month and 130,063 units of sale in the last 8 months. However, the company recorded a rise in sales for the 56th consecutive month.
