What Made Koenigsegg To Think About All Wheel-Drive Hybrid Super cars ?

Koenigsegg is one of the most reputed and well-known supercar manufacturers, but I guess we all know this very well. They have been building the most powerful cars in the world with its Koenigsegg One:1 which can produce 1,341 Hp of power and the upcoming Regera Hybrid which is supposed to produce around 1500 Hp of power. An interesting thing about Koenigsegg is that they have always produced cars with rear wheel drive, but we may see some all-wheel drive Koenigsegg in the near future.

The Koenigsegg Regera

The Koenigsegg Founder and CEO, Christian Von Koenigsegg recently held a forum where one of the fans asked why the company doesn't use all-wheel drive in their cars.?
In his response, von Koenigsegg said the simply reason was due to packaging, namely, the extra space required in the center of the car to house a prop shaft driving the front wheels. He explained that the extra space would require the cabin to be widened, leading to issues with the aerodynamics and weight distribution. Then there’s also the issue of torque steer affecting the steering.

"I don’t think we’re there just yet, but I know it will happen," von Koenigsegg said. "When the right hub motors do become available then we can look at an electric four-wheel drive.”

After these statements made by the CEO himself, fans are really excited to see these powerful Koenigsegg beasts in an all-wheel drive avatar. We hope the fans will be getting this good news very soon.
